Why Is Hillary Giving A Concession Speech?

Was that a concession speech I heard from Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night?

Here's why the Democrats should be making Hillary Clinton their candidate for President. It's real simple. Look at how Senator Clinton does against John McCain in the polls versus how Barrack Obama does. In a latest survey, it shows if the election were to be run today Clinton would win by nearly 10%. When Obama is pitted against McCain it's almost a dead heat. I don't care how many delegates a candidate has and I don't care how many super delegates they have...to me that's the number you should be looking at.

And I've heard that Clinton is just making nice to bring the party together and create as some people would call it..."A Dream Ticket". I'm sorry. An Obama-Clinton ticket is not a dream ticket because, as much as we want to say that we have progressed in our thinking, there are a lot of people still in this country who do not want a woman president and a lot of people in this country that still do not want to see any man of color attain the oval office. From an electibility standpoint that could be a "Nightmare Ticket",

Isn't the objective here to win the election? Of course if the Democrats are really serious about taking back the White House both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama should step aside and make Al Gore the candidate and Hillary Clinton his running mate.

Next week should be really interesting.

Nah, Allen, that has nothing to do with why Hillary Clinton should be the nominee. The real reason is, she's pretty much the ONLY candidate this time around seriously ready to be president. Obama's sugarcube platform dissolved in the rain some time ago, now he no longer even bothers trying to repeat a small portion of the New York Senator's well defined offerings. Anymore it's all about sugarcandy mountain where he's supposed to be able to lead us all. Oh, look at the little stickers with Obama looking up at the word "Hope." Hope for what?

But the more he talks about change, the more I think 'Meet the new change, same as the old change.' At last, Jimmy Carter gets the chance for a second term in the form of Barack Obama.

None of that matters. People go to hear him speak and feel all excited. Reminds me of Buckminster Fuller, who once so bedazzled a Russian speaker in a debate that there was no rebuttal, the Russian admitted he wasn't ready to tear down what Bucky said. At least not in front of the audience that had cheered him on as he said it.

I'd like to think that, somehow, substance could carry the day. That people would vote for the person who did the best job, and now who they liked hearing talk. But once again, it's not going to happen. It would be perfectly LEGAL for people to say Hillary is our best hope right now and vote for her, but it's also legal for them to disregard who's best. (Although it's NOT legal for Bill Clinton to run for Vice President, he's been President for more than 6 years.)

Ah well, I'm sure the students had a good time in his classes at the university. Too bad the president has to do more than speak. And give bad grades to those who aren't buying his lectures, and dismiss them as "Bitter." And all the other negatives he'd bring to the job if he somehow won in November.

So just to make a play on their middle names, you can expect them to be known as Barack "Hissing" Obama and John "Kindly" McCain after the Presidential debates.
